Region's economy gets vote of confidence - KW Record May 31st, 2007

MATT WALCOFF (The Record) - Waterloo Region's economic future remains bright despite recent setbacks, the chief financial officer of BMO Financial Group told a local audience yesterday.

"It's a rapidly changing world, but I have full confidence that the Waterloo Region will not only be able to keep up, but that it will be out in front setting the pace," Karen Maidment told the annual meeting of Canada's Technology Triangle Inc., the regional economic-development agency. Average incomes in the are among the highest in Canada, and local employment growth is outpacing that of the country at large.

Region top Ontario Market for real estate investment - KW Record April 12th, 2007

Waterloo Region is the best place in Ontario to invest in real estate, according to a report released yesterday by the Real Estate Investment Network, a market research company with branches across Canada.
"With the diversity and strength of the economy, the growing population and the average age of the population, we are calling it the economic Alberta of Ontario," said company president Don Campbell.
